Buying a Watch
Are your watches authentic?
Yes — always. Every timepiece we sell has been personally inspected and verified for authenticity by our team before it is listed or offered to a customer. We stand behind every watch with our authenticity guarantee. If a watch you purchased from us is ever independently verified to be counterfeit, we will make it right with a full refund or replacement.
Do you offer any warranty on the watches you sell?
Yes. Down South Timepieces provides its own warranty on watches sold through us. Because we are an independent dealer and not an authorized dealer for any brand, manufacturer warranties do not apply — but our DST warranty covers you directly. Please see our Warranty page for full details.
Do your watches come with original boxes and papers?
We note whether a watch includes its original box, papers, or accessories in each listing. Many pre-owned luxury watches change hands without complete sets — this is common in the secondary market. When box and papers are present, we include them. When they are not, that is disclosed upfront.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept a variety of payment methods including wire transfer, Zelle, cash (in person), and other methods communicated at the time of sale. Full payment is required before any watch is shipped. For high-value transactions, we may require a verified wire transfer or other secure payment method at our discretion.
Can I see a watch in person before buying?
Absolutely. If you are local to Albany, Georgia or can visit our location at 719 N Westover Blvd STE D, we welcome in-person viewings by appointment. Contact us to schedule a visit.
Sourcing a Watch
Can you find a watch that isn't currently listed?
Yes. Sourcing hard-to-find timepieces is one of our specialties. Submit a sourcing request with your desired make, model, reference number, and any preferences (condition, dial color, bracelet type, etc.), and we will search our network on your behalf. We cannot guarantee availability or a specific price, but we have strong connections in the pre-owned luxury watch market.
How long does sourcing take?
Timelines vary depending on the watch and current market availability. Common models may be located within days; rare references could take several weeks or longer. We will keep you informed throughout the process and will never pressure you to accept a piece that does not meet your expectations.
Is there a fee to submit a sourcing request?
No. Submitting a sourcing request is free. You are only obligated to purchase if you choose to accept our offer once we locate a watch that meets your criteria.
Selling & Trading
How do I sell or trade a watch to you?
Start by submitting our Sell or Trade form with photos and details about your piece. We will review your submission and respond with a preliminary quote. Final offers are made after inspecting the watch in person or once we receive it. You are under no obligation to accept our offer.
How do I ship a watch to you safely?
We strongly recommend shipping your watch insured for its full replacement value using a reputable carrier such as FedEx, UPS, or USPS. Please see our Shipping Policy for guidance on packaging and carrier recommendations. Down South Timepieces is not responsible for loss or damage during transit to us.
How quickly will I get paid for my watch?
Once we receive and inspect your watch and you accept our offer, we aim to process payment promptly — typically within one to two business days via wire transfer, Zelle, or cash for in-person transactions.
Repairs & Service
Do you repair watches you didn't sell?
Yes. We accept watches for service regardless of where they were purchased. Whether you need a simple battery replacement, a full movement service, crystal replacement, bracelet repair, or water resistance testing, we can help or connect you with a trusted watchmaker.
Will you provide a repair estimate before starting work?
Yes. We always provide an estimate before beginning any non-routine repair work. You will have the opportunity to approve or decline before we proceed. There is no obligation to move forward if the estimate does not meet your expectations.
How long do repairs take?
Turnaround time depends on the nature of the work and parts availability. Minor services may be completed within days; complex movement overhauls or parts sourcing may take several weeks. We will keep you updated throughout the process.
Shipping & Returns
Do you ship nationally?
Yes. We ship watches across the United States. All outbound orders are fully insured and shipped via trusted carriers. You will receive tracking information once your order ships.
What is your return policy?
Returns must be requested within 3 days of receipt. Items must be returned in the exact condition received, with all original documentation and packaging. Please see our Returns & Refunds page for the complete policy.
